RETIREMENT PREVIEW
On Saturday mom and I had the great pleasure of taking a delightful 530 mile roundtrip drive to the youth conference site for this year.
In the process we got to engage in some of the types of activities that will fill our retirement years. :)
Think of the excitement, visiting and seeing quirky little sites along southern and northern and western and eastern byways and dining in the finest of establishments along the way.

BEHIND THE SCENES AT A PIANO RECITAL
Mom had her Spring Piano Recital on May 2nd. She has reduced the number of students she teaches so the recital wasn't as long as some have been, although her recitals have never been long, by design. She has some really talented students and they were fun to listen too.
Ryan Clawson played the Piano Man, by Billy Joel, complete with the harmonica part.
Rachel Canova accompanied a celloist from RHS for one of her numbers. Scott, do you need to take your shoes off for a cello, or still just the trampoline? I would assume that shoes are still appropriate to minimize damage.... to the feet!
One promising young student with tons of already apparent talent, is Ashlynn Chugg. She played two delightful pieces from memory and did a wonderful job! (Her mom has access to this blog! :) )
The photo is of the Crockett family taking pictures of Chandler as he performs. I can only assume that there is a camera and a backup camera (can you say Monk), to assure that quality photos are obtained and the event adequately documented. Chandler can really play.
Hot fudge sundaes were served and a good time was had by all.

A DAY AT WORK
So, Heidi P. requested a current picture of me, and I thought I'd include it with a day on the job. They say that a bad day on the golf course is better than a good day in the office. I'm not sure that is right when the day on the golf course is trying to get owners and contractors together on what the course should look like after construction of a pipeline across it.
I think it looks pretty good, don't you? Fortunately it wasn't cold and snowing on May 2nd (it was on the 1st), so it's always nice to get out of the office for a while on a day like this. Hopefully in the coming weeks we'll get this course back looking like the Copper Club that it is, complete with the tailings pond and copper refinery backdrops, and the golfers won't continue to envision the course as Augusta National Golf Club in their memories from what it looked like last fall.
P.S. Did you know you can make yourself really skinny (well maybe not really skinny, but thinner) on a blog by sizing the pictures the way you want?
